Marvel’s The Avengers

avengers movieDistributed by Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures and produced by Marvel Studio, Marvel’s The Avengers is an American superhero movie which was also converted into 3D.


The cast ensemble includes, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffallo, Samuel Jackson, Cobie Smulders etc.
Directed by Joss Whedon, the superheroes are united by Nick Fury, who is the director of SHIELD (peacekeeping organization) to protect Earth from being subjugated by Thor’s adopted brother Loki. Loki controls the Tesaeract, which is a pulsing cube of energy capable of opening a gateway to universe. Using this piece of energy, Loki plans to attack Earth with an army of reptile-looking monsters.
Comprising of more than 2200 visual effects shot, around 14 companies worked together to make Avengers the success that it is. Companies like Hydraulx, Fuel VFX, Evil Eye Pictures, Industrial Light and Magic, Digital Domain, Luma Pictures etc worked together for this movie. ILM being the lead vendor, worked on creating many key effects including the digital body doubles of Iron Man and Hulk.
Ruffalo had to perform in a motion capture suit on the set to create the on-screen Hulk with other actors while four motion capture High Definition cameras captured hi movements. In all, the last hour of the movie comprising of special effects plays a big part with mechanical objects engaging in combat and resulting in loud crashes and explosions.
