Dunkirk
Nolan’s favorite visual effects vendor, Douglas Negative is responsible for the entire vfx work in the film. This is the same company which worked on Inception, Interstellar and the Batman series. Unlike the other movies, Dunkirk has very little use of visual effects. The crew used real WWII battleships and fighter planes for filming.
All the explosions shown in the film are also real made-up blasts. Very little touch of vfx is given at the time of editing to amplify the explosions.Nolan used IMAX camera to shoot the entire film. ‘Dunkirk’ won the Golden Trailer Award for the best drama and got the third place as the most anticipated of 2017 in ICP award.
