Nick Off Duty

‘Nick Off Duty’ is a German crime action thriller directed by Christian Alvart. The protagonist’s character originated from a German TV series called ‘Tatort’ that became a blockbuster after the character of Nick was introduced. The film stars German actors Til Schweiger, FahriYardim and Luna Schweiger.

The wife of the German police agent Nick Tschiller was brutally murdered by a Turkish gangster. To take her mother’s revenge, Nick’s daughter runs away to Istanbul with the motive to kill the murderer and eventually she gets lost. Nick goes to rescue her daughter and the mission takes him through a tough journey.

This film was co-produced by Warner Brothers, Barefoot Films and Syrreal Entertainment and distributed by Global Screen. The entire film was shot in different locations that include Hamburg, Berlin, Istanbul and Moscow. The cinematography was handled by Christof Wahl and he shot the entire film in DCP color format. He has used plenty of long shots to establish the scenes and composed a lot of actions in each frame.
Editor Dirk Grau and Marc Hofmeister have used Final Cut Pro for the basic editing. Special Effects and vfx were done by Hans Seck and his team of sixteen members mostly to enhance the quality of the shots and correct the action sequences. This film got nominated for the CIVIS Media Prize in 2016.
